Trauma & PTSD
YESTERDAY DOESN’T HAVE TO DICTATE TOMORROW
There are horrible, inexplicable things that occur during our time here on earth. Things that are incredibly scarring and damaging to our human psyche, spirit, and nervous systems. We are deeply sensitive, emotional beings and for those of us who have lived through, witnessed and experienced tragedies, life can feel incredibly difficult.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event or a series of repeated and continual events — either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event and night terrors. If these symptoms get worse, last for months or even years, and interfere with your day-to-day functioning, you may have PTSD.
